KEYMER FOLK DANCE CLUB
About Our Club
Keymer Folk Dance Club was formed nearly 70 years ago and is a popular social club in the village. The club meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays of the month and we enjoy a range of folk and country dances from the English and American traditions.
All are welcome and you don’t need to bring a partner. We start at 7.30pm, break for refreshments half-way through and finish at 9.30pm. There is a small club membership fee of £3.00 and we pay £2.00 each evening. Remember, your first visit is free!
OUR CALLERS
  • The Caller is the person who teaches us the dances. They are usually people with plenty of dancing experience.

  • They walk us through the dance slowly and make sure we all know what to do. Then we dance it to the music.

  • We have resident club callers and usually about once a month, we invite guest callers to come and teach us their dances. On the 5th Monday of the month we invite club members to have a go at calling a dance themselves.
